MTV is banking on a trainwreck — but it ain’t Britney.

Although Britney shot promos for the VMAs, we’re told the real gold is Michael Jackson. Sources close to the awards tell us MTV honchos have been working OT to get Jacko to reappear at the awards.

We’re told a deal is as good as sealed to have MJ present an award with sister Janet.

Ellen DeGeneres And Portia de Rossi To Wed This Weekend!

Chatshow host Ellen DeGeneres will marry actress
Portia de Rossi this weekend, say reports.

According to Us Weekly, the pair are holding an intimate ceremony in
California. Only close friends and family have been invited.

DeGeneres announced that she would be getting married while filming her US TV
show. She revealed the news shortly after California’s Supreme Court ruled that
same sex couples have the right to marry.

“It’s something that we’ve wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are
very, very excited,” said the 50-year-old.

It was rumored, that Ellen asked Oprah to officiate the
ceremony.

“Oprah is definitely invited to the wedding, but Ellen wants her to play
a bigger role,” the tabloid insider squeals. “Ellen wants her to be the
minister.”

Ellen and Portia began dating in December 2004.

Tori Spelling Is Wishing For Triplets

According to Female First Tori Spelling wants to
have triplets.

The ‘Beverly Hills, 90120′ star - who already has Liam, one, and

two-month-old daughter Stella with husband Dean McDermott -
has no plans to extend her family in the near future, but confessed
she would love
to have three more babies at some point.

Tori is quoted by gossip website absolutenow.com as saying: “Dean and I are
going to take a hiatus from having babies. But when we decide to have more,
maybe I will be able to produce triplets! I’d like that.
“But that would be in the future - not right now. I am going to have a little
break to raise the babies we have. But we definitely want more.”
Tori recently revealed she is happier with her body since becoming a mother.
She said: “When I was young it’s always that thing - you can never be too thin.
Now that I’m in my 30s - I’m married, happy and have a baby - I realise I’m at a
healthy weight. I don’t want to get any thinner. This is what looks good.”

John Mayer, got a pleasant surprise this week when she ran into
Friends pal
Courteney Cox at an L.A. restaurant.

"It was a pretty amazing scene. Jen was sitting at a table inside and
then
suddenly Courteney Cox walked in," says a fellow diner at the
Sunset Towers
hotel’s restaurant Thursday night. "They were pretty
surprised and excited to
run into each other."

Both appeared to be having business meetings over dinner, the diner says.

"Jen looked incredible," says the diner. "Let me put it this way, it made me
doubt the breakup story, because there is no way she was blue in any way. She
was really happy … There was no hint of any problems."

Since the breakup, Aniston, 39, and Mayer, 30, have settled back into their
separate lives on different sides of the country, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.

Aniston has been spending time at her home in the Hollywood Hills, where she was
visited several times by friend and yoga instructor Mandy Ingber.

Mayer, after arriving in New York on Thursday morning on a break from his
current tour, kept an even lower profile. He is due back on tour in Charlotte,
N.C., on Aug. 19.

The couple, who had been dating since April, split mutually, according to a
friend of Mayer.

"They were going in different directions," says the friend. "He’s at the height
of his career and very focused. Different things are important to them both
right now."

Christina Applegate Diagnosed with Breast Cancer

Sources confirm to ET that 36-year-old “Samantha Who” star Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

A rep for the actress says, “Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time.”

The star rose to fame as a teenager on “Married with Children.”

Shia LaBeouf Flips Truck in DUI Accident

Shia LaBeouf, 22, was arrested for drunk driving Saturday morning in Hollywood after causing an accident in which he was injured.

The accident happened in Hollywood at approximately 3 a.m. after LaBeouf made a left turn in front of an oncoming car. He was driving a green Ford F-150 truck, which was hit by the other vehicle, causing his F-150 to flip.

Sergeant Wolf with the LAPD said it was obvious that the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star had been drinking. “It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest.”

Paramedics were called and both Shia and the driver of the other car were taken to the hospital.

LaBeouf was arrested and booked for a misdemeanor DUI. If his victim would have been critically hurt he would have been cited for felony DUI.

He is being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for injuries to his head, left hand and knee. Surgery was needed on his hand.

If you remember, Shia was arrested last November after refusing to leave a Chicago Walgreen’s for being intoxicated.

Shia, you had better clean up your act buddy, you’re on top of the world - why screw it up now?

Heather Locklear Has Left Rehab.

The 46-year-old actress who checked into the Arizona facility on June 19, is said to be feeling rejuvinated after spending four weeks being treated for anxiety and depression.

A source said: “Heather Locklear is feeling really great. And she looks beautiful, just radiant. She seems happier - she told a really funny story and she laughed from her core. That’s when I knew she was going to be fine. I think that’s the best part of all- It’s so nice to her her laugh.”

During her stay, Heather enjoyed theraputic spa treatments, rode horses and learned to appreciate being on her own.

Heather, who was visited by her actor boyfriend Jack Wagner during her time in the clinic, cant wait to be reunited with her 10 year old daughter Ava, from her marriage with Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora.

The source added: “She is most exited to be back home with Ava.”
